July meeting

Our meeting, once again, was a blessing and inspiration to all who attended. I would like to thank all of you who did attend. Also missing those who could not come!

Welcome to Dr Gerdi van der Berg, Ronel en Lynette [My Body projek].

I would like to share some of the news and updates:

We are grateful for the blessings of House Jabes - God listened to their prayers and changed their situation from that of nearly loosing the house to now being blessed with 2 houses! And Judy shared the good news about how prayers with regards to the World Cup Soccer was answered.

Thank you to Rosa who helped Shamiela with a DVD player.
Thank you to Luani, who helped with the goodie bags.

Latsha is still looking for 2 speakers for Women's Day.

The Need

There are many women who work selflessly work in their communities for the Kingdom with love and passion. They tangibly show the love of Jesus towards others. After many years of meeting these women through Radio Tygerberg, I have experienced how lonely some of these women can feel in their respective mission fields. Some feel like giving up when they take into consideration the enormity of the task, the stress on themselves, the lack of funding, the sometimes lack of knowledge & also the perceived lack of someone who can understand what they are experiencing.

These women sometimes find themselves in situations where they lack resources to service an urgent need. Sometimes they have an abundance of a resource that could be shared with other welfare workers.

Yad Emmanuel

We would like to start a network to which women who are involved in welfare work can belong, so they can encourage, support and mentor each other. We would like to create an environment where these women can explain what they do, put forward their wish-lists and testify to what God has done in their ministries. We would also like to create opportunities for exchange knowledge and resources.

Emmanuel means “God with us” and Yad means “hand”. So, not only do we do our work standing under the protective hand of God, but we are also God’s hand on earth. And we would like all of us to take hands to do His Kingdom work!
